The Canadian Securities Exchange wishes to congratulate the family of Gordon Cheesbrough on his posthumous induction into the Investment Industry Association of Canada Hall of Fame

TORONTO, October 26, 2018 – The Canadian Securities Exchange congratulates the family of Gordon Cheesbrough on his posthumous induction into the Investment Industry Association of Canada’s Hall of Fame.

Following a successful career at Scotia McLeod and Scotia Capital where he became Chairman and CEO, Mr. Cheesbrough moved on to head Altamira Investment Services as President and CEO. In 1998 he co-founded the independent investment bank, Blair Franklin Capital Partners, and was instrumental in the establishment of CNSX Markets Inc., the parent company of the CSE. He provided invaluable assistance as a financier, advisor and as a member of the exchange’s Board of Directors. Highly regarded for his acumen and drive, Gord was equally dedicated to the success of those he worked with. His work on behalf of charitable organisations was another example of his leadership and willingness to help others.

The CSE thanks the IIAC and the nominating committee for recognizing Gord’s contributions to the securities industry. He is the fourth board member from CNSX Markets to be so recognized, joining John McNaughton, Tom Caldwell and Ned Goodman as hall inductees. The current Board, chaired by Mr. Caldwell, and the staff of the CSE across Canada are indebted to these eminent persons who have given their support and guidance to the vibrant, liquid and fast-growing market that it is today.
